To tumblr or not to tumblr?

I am DETERMINED to start what I am calling a “creative life blog.” Including craftiness, thriftiness, inovativeness, photographyness, artsiness, and probably some fashiony-ness too. 

Which do you think is a better idea, use Tumblr or another “normal” blog site, such as Blogspot? And why?
