After ordering some more eye-liner from my Mary Kay lady a couple weeks ago and going on an intentional shopping trip this past week, (and buying the shortest shorts I’ve worn in years. Don’t worry, they still go past my fingertips…) I did some self-reflecting on my recent trend toward being feminine, and besides the inspiration of of this lovely lady, I have come to 3 theories:

1. 5 months of planning a giant party focused around me in a dress and the decorations, started me on some new habits.
2. In my attempts at figuring out how to self-identify as a “wife”, I have started copying married women around me to try and solve my confusion.
3. I finally, 2 months shy of my 25th birthday, am feeling like an adult. I have been wearing makeup and flattering outfits not because I want people to think I am cool, but because it shows that I respect myself and expect to be respected.

I am leaning towards #3.
